feelin your pain...........
now you feel the pain NIU fans suffered following US's dramatic comeback win in MACC football 2005.

Zips appeared in control of own destiny and in command of the game the second half.

Fate can be ficke.

What a finish and tuff way to end a season.

Is your team stocked with key veterans or a mix and poised to make another run in 07/08?

When did Huggins leave UA and was it for Cincy? What was he able to achieve at Akron?

Have you ever won an NCAA tourney game? We have not been to dance but a handful of times last falling to Tx Tech at buzzer ten+ yrs ago.

The NIU game was a fluke, and the Miami loss was less tragic than it was returning to Zen. I grew up in the area watching "The Drive", "The Fumble", WS Game 7 against the Marlins, and Firckin MJordan game 7 buzzer beaters year after year after year....... etc. etc. I was shocked when we actually pulled it out in the NIU championship..... shoulda seen this coming. BTW it did get ranked as the #1 basketball finish by ESPN this weekend. 04-chairshot This will probably be our next Jordan over Ehlo replay.....

I believe our big guys (the James gang) were all seniors this year. From the little i've heard we still have a lot of talent coming back but i think the EAST is going to be even more brutal next year.

Our only tourney bid was during our OVC days w/ Huggins. We were 1 and done in the tourney, the game was decently close and i believe we were ahead at the half. Huggins left shortly after that for Cincy.

RE: feelin your pain...........
Jeremiah Wood is coming back along with Nick Dials, Cederick Middleton and Quade Milum as seniors. That is a strong gorup of leadership there! I am excited to see what they can do. Akron's main issue for the upcoming season is not filling Romeos spot but more so Drus. Dru was the leader, he was Coach Dambrot on the court. That type of leadership is extremely hard to replace!

If Ronnie Steward can come in and start right away we won't fall off all that much! He was rated on of the top point gaurds in the State of Ohio this past year! I can't wait to see if he can step up and step in. if he can't look for Nick Dials to run the point, a good strong player but not nearly as talented in the point gaurd role as Dru was!
