EMU RECRUITS/POTENTIAL RECRUITS?
Pershing won again last night beating U of D Jesuit handily! No mention of how Skipper did!

Williams from Pontiac Central had another good game with 25 and 14 boards in a Pontiac Northern Victory. He has had 27, 28, and 25 pt games in the District Tournament. Hopefully we will have a shot at him this spring although I hear the whole MAC is recruiting him or was recruitign him! Anyone have any feedback on this kid? Beleive he is averaging aroung 24 ppg with three others on his team in double figures.

Taylor Truman won their district as PJ Reyes had 26. They play in the regional at Lincoln Tuesday. Does anyone know EMU's level of interest in this kid (Bowdry's HS teammate)?

This forum needs a good EMU hoops insider ala Eaglewarrior for FB.

reyes from truman
The staff was interested in him this past summer but don't know the level of interest if any now! Would seem to me if we wanetd him we could sign him. His coach has been to a few EMU games this past season and he brought the whole team includeing REyes to one of them.

Reyes is very athletic, jumps out of the gym and is averaging around 20 ppg and 10 rebounds to date.

Seems liek I heard some attitude or selfish issues on his behalf earlier during the season. AAU issues, he played with 2 different teams and made a switch which didn't seem to sit too well with some. He also debated until summers end whether to return to Truman or not, he originally went to Osborn and then played with the Finney HS TEAM DURING THE SUMMER, HAD A RIFT WITH THE COACH (REEVES) AND CAME BACK TO TRUMAN.

good info
this dovetails with one of my recent posts about FB recruits.

It was to the gest that we don't know the character and personality of the recruits (who could know this about the 50+ kids EMU considers for FB scholarships each year?? Sometimes kids are overlooked by BCS programs for a reason, known to them but unknown to us).

P.S. Rams has had his problem kids already - remember Gino Smith? Remember the kid Marshall was got booted early on? (I still don't know why Boone took him).

This is why I don't like when programs go to a JUCO tourney in March and look for a player whom they were not scouting before hand. Too easy to make a mistake without solid background checking. Braun jused to go recruit those JUCO tourneys and sign kids in April.
