Eaglefootball has the dates right. The only change so far has been S.Johnson to o-line. My understanding Gage wont see much time at QB if any at all...and dont expect to see C.Thomas and Bracy out there.

Okay a few questions:

1. If Schmitt is still recovering from surgery and Jones might be moved to RB, who are the QBs for the spring practices since neither McMahon or Williams arrive until fall practices start?

2. We know about Thomas problems what's up with Bracey a starter last year at DB?

3. Any names ie walk ons transfers etc expected to pull any surprises?
Last spring I think Seaberry was one that turned heads.

4. Some of us fans that have wished for any type of running attack will be wondering how Priest does. I assuming that Blevins is remaining at RB. Is Everson still playing LB?

Yea, we all know about Thomas`s problem...if you remember right Bracy missed the first 2 or was it 4 games of last year?.Well he`s gotten into the same trouble again, could cost him the whole year..we`ll have to wait and see.....schedule for this year (in order).....#1 at Pitt, #2 Ball State at home, #3 at N. Illinois, #4 Howard at home, #5 at Vanderbilt, #6 at UM, #7 at Ohio, #8 WMU at home, #9 NW at home (Ford Field), #10 Bowling Green at home, #11 at Toledo, #12 at CMU....dont know if there is a bye week mixed in there somewhere.....

Thanks Warrior for all the updates. Lets hope Bracy gets his head turned around. As I recall we do have some redshirt freshmen at DB with some talent.

That schedule is still pretty tough up front with @Pitt, BSU, @NIU before we get Howard.

Actually the schedule is pretty tough, period. @Ohio is a toughie for a crossover game.

I was hoping for an easy game on Sept 8. No such luck.

We'll be favorites, I predict, twice this season: vs. Howard and vs. BG. That's it. MAC West, in FOOTBALL, is tough (MAC West is bad in hoops).

More and more bad news on players. It's killing the program.

Pretty soon instead of getting some fictional 40 yard times we are going to need to know what these kids are made of on the inside.

unfortunately, that is the hardest for us to judge (actually damn near impossible) which is one reason I'm losing interest in following recruiting (some time when 'down programs' get recruits who are 'too good to be true' they sometimes they are).

I can't judge a kid's character by reading a high school box score or write up. Who can????? 05-stirthepot

BRACY
Has such talent but apparently doesn't have it all together - you think he would realize the potential he has going forward - a shot at the next level is possible but he may ruin it all if he doesn't get it together soon - such potential!

We do have a lot of corner candidates - hopefully some one will surface in the spring.

Too bad Genyck will be workign with QB's that probablt won't play next season - a setback?

Needs to work on the running game!

I think what I find discouraging is the attitude of some of the experienced players. Every football program had its bad apples so to speak I could probably write a book on MSU's everything from firing bottle rockets at dorms (did they ever hear of 9/11) to beating up fellow students. Fortunately for the most part EMU has not had that problem or at least it hasn't surfaced publicly. I'm more concerned about a program where man players quit or just don't want to work for their Div I scholie on the field and off in the classroom.

Rams handled the Gino Smith problem very well. He did give him another chance and when Gino didn't have a change of heart he told him to leave. Maybe Bracey and Thomas need to be told the same thing despite them starting at various times in their careers.

IN AGREEMENT
GIVE THEM THE BOOT! WE DON'T NEED PLAYERS THAT DON'T APPRECIATE THE VALUE OF THE TEAM AND/OR SCHOLARSHIP VALUES.

DOUBT THAT RAMS WOULD TOLERATE BAD ATTITUDES, LAZY KIDS ETC. SMITH HAD A LOT OF TALENT BUT NOTHING OTHER THAN - HE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN A HEAD CASE AND ACADEMIC DEFICIENCY HAD HE STAYED.

Howard was 5-6 last year with a Sagarin ranking of 215. Their lone 1-A opponent was Rutgers who beat them 56-7. By comparison EMU's Sagarin ranking was 146. If they would have played last year EMU would have been about a 20 point favorite. Given EMU's recent track record against 1-AA teams I'd settle for a 14-20 point win.

I sent Jim Streeter an e-mail last week asking if a spring roster would be posted no reply. Hopefully we'll get one soon to know who's in and who's out.

The weather the past few days has been cooperative and hopefully stays so.

Any news or developments would greatly be appreciated.

March 17th
Just an FYI, Saturday March 17th EMU is having another Junior Day to coincide with practice. Registration is at 11:00 am, practice is at 1:00pm.
Hopeing to get a tour of campus, not sure what kind of access we'll have to buildings, but it's been years since I've been on Campus has it changed much? The article in the Detroit Free Press, on a Tuesday, about the condition of the Campus was pretty bad timing, my son was offered on the Saturday before. Guess we need to check things out on our own.
