They were there. Not only did I hear them via FSN, I saw a couple camera shots of them late in the game. Also when all the KSU students were giving the middle finger towards the stands they were directed towards the Rowdies. But that is besides the point.

I liked the physical play of the game. That is the way a title should be decided IMO. It was a tough and gritty game that fans enjoyed and it should have been on a national stage.

If all the MAC tournament games are going to be like this we are all in for one heck of a tournament. Good luck Flashes in your game Thursday night!
Funny though there wern't quite as many as last year.. Hmm, wonder why?? But at least you brought a few more to the football game in Oct.

Why wonder, isn't it obvious, the game was sold out and it decided who was going to be the MAC East Champion. Ticket availability was not as plentiful this year as it was last year when Akron came to town. But anyway, Good Luck Flashes against WMU or NIU.

I don't know what you are talking about.

Read the front page of the Beacon today.

If you think this is promising, I'd like to sell you some potential ocean front land just a little west of San Diego. ( mmucha will know what land I'm talking about.)

Look, eventually UA will replace the RB because it will fall down. And, I know the bind you are in with the State of Ohio. How can you build a new stadium and raise tuition at the same time? I get that these are not meant for the same things, but the optics are not good at all. Plus, this violates the sacred rule of thumb to not annunce a project until 2/3 of the funding is complete and a definite go forward plan for the remaining 1/3. That's why so many announcements are made with a photo session with a shovel in the ground. From a distance, it looks like the UA announcement was made on a wish and a prayer.

oldfan's got the word on the street that you guys are in trouble on this. May not be at all true, and of course you have to eventually build a new stadium, but nothing in this article to offer any comfort.

As much as you seem to not want us to get a new stadium...we are going to get a new stadium.

Other than being argumentative, I don't know what you are trying to prove.

I just re-read the Beacon article again. I really can't see why you don't think this is going to happen....other than being from Kent. ;-)

I think Flash Fan accurately said that there is no doubt you will get a stadium. There is no other choice. The Rubber Bowl without refurbishment will not last.
My reading of the article says that this is not very far along, though. The money just isn't there now to proceed with anything but early palnning still and we are how many years into the "planning stage" already?
I've read Zip fans saying recently they will be in this stadium for sure for the 2009 season. Granted a couple of fans shooting off at the mouth doesn't mean much. My question would be, how do you get a completed stadium in 24 months given what appears to be the current status as evidenced by this aritcle and the current state of funding? If you say 2011-12, that might seem do-able.
I sure don't begrudge you getting a football stadium to get up to par with other venues in the MAC. Has to happen if the football program is to remain viable which I think is a given. But when I first heard about, it was said that it would be finished already and would be some grandiose thing that would be the greatest facility in the conference. I think reality has set in--plans don't seem all that far along now, and what is finally built will be what can be afforded in the budget realities of Ohio universities and not the sum of everyone's wish list. And no harm in that. You need a football stadium. You'll get one.
