march madness
OK, march madness is upon us. the conference tournaments started last night. our flashes are peaking at the right time!

thoughts anyone??

a few thoughts from me:

1) power conference tournaments R such a joke.. meaningless for the most part.

2) i like the old mac tourney set-up better. opening round on campus.

3) nothing like the excitment of selection sunday!

4) with a bye in mac tourney, our 1st game should be a W.. as we'll be playing tired lower-seeded team. if we have the luxury of double digit lead in that opening game.. is say we give parks & mckee lots of minutes.. keep the other guys fresh for next day & beyond.

5) if we do make ncaa tourney.. would be nice to be placed in columbus or buffalo.. should be home court advanatage for us.

Good points. While it doesn't play a role this particular year, I liked it better the way it was in 1999 when winning a division, East or Eest, didn't guarantee a seed no lower than 2. That year, the two best teams, both from the East, were seeded 1 and 2 (Miami and Kent). In fact, I don't like even having an East and a West. I know, though, that it is necessary in order to have a MAC title game in football, and makes scheduling in basketball easier, as there are too many teams to have a double round-robin. A good idea, though it would never happen, would be to have the coaches vote for seeding.
