OT-Butler or SIU?
Who do you guys like in this one? I think SIU will pull it out but I would kind of like to see Butler win. The only question is will either score over 60 points? lmfao Seriously, MD02 can say all he wants about low scoring games but there is some REALLY good defense being played in this one early on.

And again.. The Valley averages the same if not more ppg than the MAC. Look it up.

I'm not sure who's gonna win but I planned my afternoon around this game. Should be a good one.

SIU's size and speed is too much for Butler. They are wearing down.

SIU isn't a mid-major.
Butler is.

A high major in a mid-major conference.

Final - SIU 68, Butler 64. SIU ends Butler's 22-game home winning streak.

In hoops, SIU > any other school in Illinois.

It's obvious why Bruce Weber doesn't want to play the Salukis now; it would be a loss for the Illini!

You know Bob, I like you, but that was a stupid ass coment. Especially considering how they are about to sign a 3 year deal to play SIU.

Thank you, come again.

I like you too Nick, but you are a moron if you think Bruce Weber doesn't want to play SIU just because players he recruited are still on the Salukis' roster! The real reason is because he knows that the Illini would probably lose!

And we'll see if that 3-year deal actually happens. According to what I've read, Ron Guenther is still opposed to it.

Yeah, that's it. I am sure he thinks SIU is going to get worse in 2 to 3 years.

So, Guenther is apposed to it. Interesting. Somebody has to be backing it..... That would be Bruce.

Btw, I'm not sure if SIU would be Illinois this year. Illinois would cause some matchup problems for SIU.

I think this year with Tatum and Young being seniors, SIU could make some noise in the Dance. The way they play defense, they can cause problems for most any team. I really like their coach and their hard-nosed style of play.

As far as the 3-year deal, it would be easy for Weber to say he wants it, but his AD doesn't. That takes the heat off Weber. We'll see if it comes off.

If they were to meet in the NCAAs this year, and the NCAA sometimes likes to bracket teams like that together, it would be interesting! I'd bet on the Salukis though. However, Illinois still has to earn their way into the Dance.

This is where the system breaks down, if a team like Illinois makes the dance and Akron doesn't, that obviously is not right.

Much higher RPI and much higher SOS. It's definitely right if Illinois were to make it over Akron.
