Team Chemistry- How Would You Rate It?
Going into the final games and the MAC Tournament, I believe the team with the best chemistry will win it all. For those who have watched the Flashes this year, how would you rate their chemistry at this point from 1 to 10. Keep in mind, the Flashes can't be as bad as they played today yet you still have to factor it in. From my perspective, I would say the Flashes' team chemistry is about a 7 but I have not seen them play enough to make a good assessment. How would others rate them and do you think their chemistry is good enough to win it all at the "Q"?

With the suspentions this season, I believe it has affected the overall chemisty of the team but the Flashes still have a chance to regain their focus and put together a nice run. Do you think they have enough leadership on this team to start another winning streak?

I believe that our chemistry is not really the problem. I did think so and said so at the beginning of the season. We have some glaring fundamental problems. Our defense is very adequate (although you can not tell by today) so I will not say anything about that.

The basic problem is a lack of leadership. JC builds up his seniors and forces them to lead even if the personality traits are not there. Omni and Armon are what they are, but the young guys are not going to look up to them. They would have early on, but now the young guys are becoming the leaders. I see Julian becoming the quiet, strong leader by character and example. But remember, he has been a starter for half a season. Singletary is gaining more respect, but he is a frosh. Scott is somewhat of a leader, but he is inconsistent as someone others will look up to.

This team is in its infancy. Do not expect too much too soon. Our day will come. Basically, the upperclassmen who could have grabbed the horns, did not and will not. In the future, we will be better by subtraction.

Even the teams with good leadership had bad days. Since this team goes 9 deep, it's a bit hard to figure out who is going to step up on any given day.

I've been thinking a bit about next year's team. I think Spates will probably fill into the Youngblood/Smith role; he's having a very nice year at Schoolcraft and his stats look a lot like Youngblood's sophomore year at Mott. I expect McKee to pick up the Armon Gates "bombs away" role, and wouldn't be surprised if McKee can bring more to the table in the long run than Gates has.

Checking out Garcia's stats (6 points, 7 rebounds a game, and not a very good shooting percentage), I really wonder if he is even better than Parks at this point. I expect neither to get a ton of time next year, with the best case scenario being that Garcia and Parks fill out a double-headed monster at center thingy two years from now.

Also, Woods has been far from dominent at Lee College. I was hoping to see stats more like Spates, but it was more like 9 points a game.

I'm wondering if DiMaria will redshirt given what's in front of him on the court (Scott, Q, Sulliger, Knight and Woods).
