It's official!
This season's men's basketball team is better than last year's team. This season's Eagles just notched their 8th win of the year with a 13 point win over Buffalo in a game where EMU lead by as much as 24 in the second half. This is a milestone that last year's team never reached.

Four Eagles, Medlock, Axon, Bunkley, and Bowdry were in double figures with Medlock leading the way with 26. Seven other EMU players scored. Although outrebounded by 5, EMU was down 11 rbs at the half and outrebounded the Bulls in the second half. Eastern shot 57.2% for the game and 47.8% from beyond the arc.

On the down side, Medlock left the game late with an ankle injury. Nothing is known about its severity yet. Also Eastern only shot 64.5% from the foul line.

Akron's in the Convo Center on Wednesday, fresh from their televised destruction of WMU. I'm going to be there. I hope you will be there too. See you at the Convo!

Here's what Street and Smith had to say in their preseason preview:

Without the best big man in the MAC last year, John Bowler, the Eagles struggled to finish 7-21,3-15. Now the Eagles may have landed...with a thud.

Lest we forget we're doing this without Gino Smith and Danny.

Nice to see the pundits (at least Street and Smith) pundits proven wrong in this case.

Akron should be a good test.
