OT -What are NIU students thoughts on online courses?
curious if any of you have had the, like them, hate them, would appreciate your feedback.....

I have taken on-line courses (but not through NIU). I found them to be more demanding of your time than the classroom courses. There is daily interaction with other students in the class to get assignments done. You usually do weekly assignments as a group and maybe a goup term paper. Sometimes there are "chatroom" type discussions where you need to post comments a few times a week on a topic.
In the classroom, on the other hand, you can be lazy some weeks. Only needing to get active if a test or term paper or class presentation is due.

To piggyback on Barber's reply, the professor has to be very good as well. You can loose a class very easy if he/she doesn't communicate well.
