niubrad00 Wrote:That doesn't seem right at all that Toledo would get 58K and OSU 12K. But I guess I'll have to take you at your word because I don't know for sure. A 50/50 split (like with us and Iowa) would seem more realistic.

Having said that, if you think you'll sell 58K tickets for that game, you're living in an alternate reality. Even IF the ticket allotment is as you say, it will still be about half and half UT/OSU fans.

We will sell the tickets. The ticket money still comes to UT, even if the general public (Ohio State fans) buy the tickets from us.

And yes, that is how it is going to work. Don't just take my word for it, take our AD's word for it:

[code:1]You recently announced a home and home football series with Ohio State. Any idea as to how the tickets will be sold for the 2009 "home" game at Cleveland Browns Stadium?

O'Brien - The allotment that we will receive for that game is well over 50,000. Ohio State will receive 12,500 tickets and then the rest will go through our ticket office.

I just met with the Browns and Ohio State last week as we begin this process. It is our home game. (To purchase tickets) you will have to be a season ticket holder or a contributor to the Rocket Fund for all tickets that we will sell. Both Ohio State and Toledo will have student sections and student pricing as well.[/code:1]

HuskiemobileMan Wrote:I am shocked that OSU would agree to this. I have no doubt that this game will sell out no matter how the tickets are distributed. There will be more OSU fans than Toledo fans.

The entire state of Ohio was shocked when it was announced last June. Cincy is the only school to get OSU on a neutral field home game, and they had to give OSU three return trips. Our deal is just a home and home. And we don't have to give them a guarantee and they are giving us a guarantee for the return trip to Columus in 2011. OSU's big think with this game is that they recruit the Cleveland area very hard and they feel playing there will be huge for their recruiting efforts.

Yep, that's my plan for both paying my daughter's way through college and my retirement.

Well if we lose it would be a major embarrassment.....and yet another backward step
