MaddDawgz02 Wrote:Gentlemen,

I know the upper deck at the Cell is pretty horrible, Ive sat down the outfield lines a few times and the seats sucked, but a friend of mine wants to know if the seats are any better if you sit in the upper deck directly behind home plate, has anyone sat in this area before, and if so were the seats not too bad for being upper deck? Thanks for any help!

MD....I've sat in the Uppers at the Cell before, right behind home plate is awesome.

If one of the two places should be considered a dump, I'm going with Wrigley. That place is very over-hyped.

Nothing wrong with the upper deck seats at the Cell. You don't really begin to feel the slope until row 15 or so and I think there are only 25 rows in the upper deck now. And what everyone says about the food at the Cell is correct, it's one of the best in baseball.

So don't listen to any of those Cubs fans tell you how bad it is, like most topics on baseball, they have a very narrow opinion on things and a very high opinion of themselves. Those outside of that Big Urinal up north know what a real joke their field and their franchise is. The funny thing is that they still think the rest of America feels sorry for them and wants to root for them, when we're really laughing at how pathetic they are. lmfao

Honestly, I think that the cell is a decent place to see a ball game, but the best part of it is not the field (or the team that plays on it). They do have great food (food at wrigley is sh!t) and they do things that entertain the fans. If I had to compare it to something, it would be a carnival.

That's funny! It says that right on the bottle. "Miller High Life the Champagne of beers". Either you have connections with Miller Brewing, or subliminal advertising works.

Behind Home Plate is a great way to see a Sox game!

Gotta love the new green seats going in, it'll look like Old Comiskey that way. Just need to put the old gold bars around the golden box seats to really complete the transformation.

See below for some sight lines. Taken from the upper deck in left field in 2005.

BTW, the park was designed to have every seat face home plate.

Just wanted to support those who are saying sitting in the upper deck between the bases is a pretty good view at Sox Park. I've sat there quite a bit and it is worth the money.

I couldn't agree more with the comment about the new green seats. That place is going to look terific. Those old blue seats were a very, very bad idea. They had such a cold look. All baseball parks should have green seats.

When I attend a WS game I purposely ask for upper deck seats behind home plate. THe sight lines are terrific and if it' s a warm weather day U can see the sailboats on Lake MI between innings. ;-)

lmfao I am going to guess that all baseball parks are designed to have all seats facing home plate!

I also agree with the green seats. They really f'ed up a lot when they first built that park. Even sox fans can admit that.

If you go to the Metrodome in Minneapolis the seating is configured for football. If you are sitting down the third base line, you have to either sit sideways, or crane your neck to the right to see home plate. Just awful. At least both Wrigley and US Cellular were designed for baseball.

All seats were designed to have a clear sightline of home plate. The same was in the upper deck until they put in the posts and gave a handful of obstructed view seats.
