"THAT WAS A HUGE WIN" SAID JC AFTER THE GAME..why?
that was the quote by jc acording to the kent state web site ..now lets review that statement.....lets first look at BGSU season up to now...got pounded 04-chairshot by ohio u by 17 ...got pounded 04-chairshot by akron u by 21...got beat by central arkansas ?? div1??? by 14...hey but BGSU season is not a total lost, they won against those great basketball powers like south alabama , troy, denison, northern colorado and michigan tech, i think you get this point ,dont you?...ive got the duke game on tape i watched the butler game on butlers web site, listen to temple ,detroit games.....i can clearly see that KSU was playing better against teams like ohio state ,duke, buttler ,temple and detroit then they are now playing vs peaple like bgsu and winning by 1 point at home , there is something wrong here , i cant put my finger on it , i do know that in most cases, unless there are injuries on the team, a team should get better, not worse as the season progresses ..do you agree with that?.....all i keep hearing from this coaches is that the kids dont do what we tell them....well who's fault is that? we are well into the season ,are we not? 18 games i think..if by now one cant get the kids to do what you tell them, than maybe the message is not clear to them..oh well ,maybe listening to a coach on a post interview say that his players "folded like a cheap coat" well maybe there is lack of respect somewhere ...just an opinion and i understand everybody has one ,and i thank god for that.... 04-bow ..MAYBE YOU INSIDERS CAN PUT SOME LIGHT IN THIS SUBJECT ..I DONT KNOW ANYONE AT KENT STATE ATHETICS MANY OF YOU ALWAYS QUOTE INSIDE SOURCES ..SO GIVE IT UP TELL US THE INSIDE SCOOP IS EVERY PLAYER HAPPY IN THIS TEAM???? lmfao lmfao

Old fan he said it because had we lost we could have thrown in the towel. Even the win doesn't make me very optimistic. I still don't think the coaches comment was all that bad but I do agree with you that this team just is NOT a team. Don't know the reason but there is something missing. I tend to suspect it's talent. Armon hasn't learned to do anything other then shoot the 3 in four years. That could be poor coaching or a player with a terrible attitude. I really don't see that. Armon plays hard and even the casual fan can see he needs to develop his game so I am sure the coaches do. The answer to that question might be he just does not have the athletic ability to do it at this level of competetion. Doesn't make him a bad player. But it does mean that due to a lack of talent we have to start a kid who is really just a role player.

Burden is right. It's just that the talent level IS down. Some of the younger guys will (should!) improve for the future. Armon Gates is a good rebounder for a guard, and plays well defensively. In fact, Christian said last year that he was the best help-side defender on the team. But, offensively he is a one-trick poney (the "three"), and often is inconsistent at even that. Last year I saw, him at times, drive and stop and pop from 15 to 17 feet, but I haven't noted that much lately.

They play like world beaters because most inexperienced players are inconsistent. When you have a lot of inexperienced players on a team, the whole team becomes inconsistent. This was a big win because they are leaving home for two games now. The Akron loss was not bad in itself as Akron should beat KSU at home this year but they can still snowball.

KStud beat me to it, Oldfan1. Less talented players, as well as less experienced players, are always inconsistent. Nature of the beast.
