Question for Temple Fans
Honest question here......MH55 if you can't answer it without arrogance than don't bother ruining the thread.

Many Temple fans complained about the previous head coach at Temple giving out too many scholarships to JC players. I noticed you have 2 commits from JC players and offers out to 5 more JC players. Is this a concern with the new head coach that he is going after too many JC players, or is it just because you need to upgrade the talent of the football team immediately?

I don't have promblem with JC. The talent has to be upgraded. Most promblem Temple fans had with JC is they struggled in class & not all of them made the FB field. Wallace big mistake was changing his Off, & by the time he got his feet under him the BE kick Temple out & he had nothing to sell kids. Which led to more borderline JC players & less made the field.

The JC's recruited by Wallace were acts of desperation to get talent because of the BE ouster. This effort by Golden is supplemental toshore up a young team. The need is more for linemen, though, IMHO.

it worries me... but I have a dog ... so i am not scared...
I also agree that Al golden has been recruiting smart players.
so in Al we trust... I will take three and four star players any day...as long as they graduate.

A few Jucos to fill some holes is OK with me. Wallace was recruiting classes that were 85% Juco and of the 85% half actually saw some playing time.
By the way...this year's class is looking fantastic!
GO OWLS!!

JVW : I'll be watching how recruiting pans out
and also UB.

I think both schools are real 'turn around' candidates.

Turn arounds shouldn't be that difficult in the 'parity-MAC'.

I assume UB and EMU are the only two MAC schools not to have a winning record this decade. I'll give 6-6 Kent a break and consider it a winning record (okay, conference record was winning).

We had a 6-2, 6-5 season with the young Josh Cribbs in '02, I believe.

It was actually 6-5, 5-3 in 2001. But KSU also had 4-4 MAC records in 2003 and 2004.

The 2005 season wrecked any sense of a building of a program. But four seasons of .500 conference records or better out of six is nothing to sneeze at for KSU.
