I remember going into the bathroom at halftime, and all the Bama fans were saying, "man, we can't stop Turner". This after many of their fans had come on our board earlier in the week saying that Bama's awesome rush defense, which had allowed an average of only 50 yds/game prior to that, would hold The Burner to similar low number.
After the game, a lot of NIU fans greeted the players outside the stadium before they loaded the bus. And I asked Michael how many yards he had for the game. Real casually, he said, "one fitty".
