Huskies Get Commit from 1st Team All State QB in Trib
From Today's Chronicle (the Tribune today named Thorgesen to their first team all state list.)

Huskies are hoping it will be a great experience on the field as well. The bowl invite became a success on Saturday, as 15 prized recruits witnessed the moment at the Convocation Center.

NIU coach Joe Novak said 14 of those players gave oral committments and hopes to have the last one wrapped up today.

One of those players was Kaneland quarterback Boone Thorgesen. The 6-foot senior gave his commitment to Novak Saturday.

6' feet is very generous. I stood next to him and he is not much taller than me. I am 5' 9". He also has a slight build but if he can fling the ball, who cares. Doug Flutie was not very big.

He seems to be very small for a D1 QB. They may have a position change in mind.

The kid is alright, but Coach Joe Novak is friends with his father who is the head coach for the Kaneland football team. I doubt he will be playing quarterback for the huskies.

He never impressed me at Kaneland, but our last Kaneland prospect worked out well.
