He didn't develop well in BG's system. Staying another year would not have helped him because the system didn't change and the system doesn't really allow for individual player development.

In other words, the system sucks. 03-hissyfit

I completely agree, and this isn't flaming. But I've always noticed that BG coaches seem to call the plays once the D is set, where somebody like Bruce called his on audible. Omar couldn't pick up Pittsburgh's offense, how is he gonna pick up Phily's? Philly basically runs the same as Tampa, unless he's had much more study time on the practice squad.

The system was great his Sophomore year, did it change that much since then?

Actually for some reason I think it did. It sure seemed like after we scored 42 points against Wisky and still lost by 14 that we made a change to a slower paced offense to keep out D off the field longer.

I'm an Eagles fan and rooted for him when he was turning pro so I'm glad to have him aboard. Odd that he fell out of favor so quickly in Pittsburgh, must not been a good listener or something.

Good luck Omar.

I hope he learns something and gets a shot in Europe or in the league next season as a FA.
