Mitchell Named Sun Belt Hitter of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee senior softball player Cortney Mitchell has been named Sun Belt Hitter of the Week for the second time this season.

Mitchell went 10-for-19 with four homeruns and eight RBIs as the Lady Raiders were 5-1 this past week. She led the Lady Raiders to a series win at Western Kentucky, going 6-for-11 with two homeruns and three intentional walks. The long-balls helped her tie a single-season school record with nine round-trippers. She is also currently riding a 16-game hitting streak.

Middle Tennessee and Mitchell will be back in action on Tuesday when the Lady Raiders host Austin Peay at 2 p.m. It will be the first home game for the Lady Raiders in 22 games.
