Lance Moore
Moore had a 90 yard punt return and a 35 yard kick return tonight along with a 12 yard catch. Looks like he might make the team as a return specialist.

That's great...I hope he makes the squad. A performance like that should help.

Unfortunately for Lance he suffers from a bias that seems to be prevalent in today's NFL: that the so-called "undersized" receiver can't contribute enough to the the success of a team.

Every coach and GM is looking for the 6-4 skywalker who, in their mind set, has the ability to turn the big play in the end zone at the drop of a hat, and the Lance Moore's of the football world are shunted off to practice squads, NFL Europe, or arena football.

And yet those of us who have watched Lance over the course of his college career know that he runs precise routes, holds on to the ball as if he has "Gorilla Glue" on his hands, and makes the big grab in traffic.

It looks as if Lance has found a spot with the Saints special teams and will be on the roster come opening game. But I'm hoping that he gets a fair shot at wide receiver also. He can play the position well if given a fair chance.

Better yet, How about Lance going the Tampa Bay and hooking up with his old pass-and-catch partner? That would be quite a story

The guy's about 5-9 in height, but he definitely has an NFL size heart.
