AJC stated that Middle Tennessee has offered Dixon who was argubly the top DE in GA HS ranks his senior year. He committed to vandy in May before his senior year and when Dixon was sucked into the legal system vandy withdrew the offer before they knew the results.

Now his step parents indicated they are not interested in vandy and Dixon is not either. Apparently MT's head coach is close to the family. When Dixon was set free, a young lady was seen walking in front of Dixon with a blue MT t-shirt on.

Dixon still has some legal hurdles to clear, but the feeling is those are without merit.

Not sure how I feel about it, but everything I've read and heard leads me to believe the kid got a bum deal down there in Georgia, and at Middle Tennessee we do believe in the redemptive quality of second chances.

I just hope for MT's sake that if they take this guy, he turns out not to have a problem controlling himself around oyung women. He was cleared of the one charge, but he also still faces charges for putting his hands down the shorts of a 14 year old girl. Hopefully Dixon has learned his lesson. Most of the things I've heard make him sound like a decent kid, and I know he's a good football player. However, if something like this should come up again while he's at MT, well, we know how bad it will look for MT in the media across the country because he had a "history" of this kind of behavior. With that said, I also think the guy probably deserves a second chance somewhere. After all, I'm sure he isn't the only 18-year-old out there that had consenual sex with an underage girl (that is if the charges with the 14-yearl-old prove untrue). Regardless, good luck this football season.
