I don't know if this means anything, but I've been noticing here and there(insiders, etc.) that we've been offerring some highly recruited guys this summer. Is this something Coach Bustle normally does, or is he swinging for the fences this year?

I'm talking about guys that have a "schools interested" list of a few BCS schools and UL.

Who are the qb's you are speaking of? To answer your question about Coach Bustle swinging for the fences, I have heard him say more than once that he will not go after kids that he does not think he can get.

I'm talking about other guys.

Note the BIG OL's we apparently are offerring.

Regarding Meyers,

I wonder if a California native such as myself could send him an e-mail and tell him that I love Louisiana and this has become my permanent home. Would it be a recruiting violation to share my feelings with someone like this since I'm a UL alum?

I won't pay for rumors.

According to them, there are several on that list we have offerred. Most intriguing to me the OL Wacholz.

I believe it would be, now if a current student were to email that would be different (I think) these things are tricky. Nice idea though.

Where do you get a list of the guys that are signed up for the summer camp? As for the list of players that UL is looking at right now I think that Zach Schreiber (DE) from Evangel Christian Academy, Erick Block (OL) from Jesuit, would be some good catches. I don't know anything about Chad Kugler or the rest of the players from the state of Texas. It will be nice when Dave Cambell puts his magazine out on the newsstand to find out about the good ball players in the state of Texas.
Marcus Green (RB,5' 11", 180, 4.5) Bastrop would be a good recruit also.
Sean Santos (QB) Holy Cross might be a good guy but he is not tall enough to be a good QB in college.

Sean Santos might only be about 5-11 or 6-0 tall but he has all the ability to be an excellent quarterback on the college level. One scout said in talking about Santos that he has the quickest release of an prospect this year, and he reads defenses very well. Most believe that if Santos was 6-2 or taller, that all of the big boys would be at his door trying to sign him. If I had my choice to take a quarterback other that Ryan Perrilloux I would take Santos in a heart beat.

I still haven't heard anyone mention who is attending the big summer camp held later this month. Also I haven't heard a word from the Bustle camp about any recruits. Why is it such a big dark secret?

I wonder if Jake could go on a couple of "well placed" recruiting visits with Coach Bustle? Could you imagine walking into the home of a great prospect with Jake at your side?? 03-wink

It would be nice to have Jake go along with Coach Bustle on a visit to a recruit's home, but I don't thing that would be ethical in the eyes of NCAA.

I heard Bustle on the radio today and Bil asked him about some of the high schoolers attending the camp and Coach responded by saying that he could not discuss any names because of recruiting rules. We can only hope that perhaps a newspaper will take some photos and/or interview some of the players. Sounds like the only way we will find out unless somebody actually goes to the camp and watches and gets some names. Right now, my schedue is too busy or I would be more than happy to. :frown:

I wish I lived in Lafayette. If I did I would make a point to be in a lot of places so I could find out things that are happening , like talking to coaches , players, news media and anyone that has a interest in UL football.

Guys, we have to go after this meyers kid. He came down to ul for an unofficial and he looks massive. they say he is 6'2" 210, but he looks big. And from what i understand, he is a mobile QB in a new form. he doesn't run around them, he slings DL off of him. he benches 315 and squats 515. we have to get someone to find him and we have to get this kid. i haven't seen him throw, but from what a friend told me, he was the bestb QB by head and shoulders at the Manning Camp. also sean santos sounds good but he wants to go to a bigger school. somebody find his # or email nad give him a call or email him because we could use a stud like this.
