On MSG at 3:30pm. If you get MSG via a satellite sports pack, it might be blacked out outside of NYC. If its an ESPN+ production, and it might be, sports bars who have the larger movable dishes should be able to find it.

Getting MAC game on tv in NYC is good exposure. This would be a very good win if Bobcats can pull off an upset. I assume that since there is tv, Gameday highlights could happen.

Well, it is good news for me, anyway, since I live in NYC, but I may attend the game anyway. Gotta map out my MAC NY-area roadtrips.

It is hard to convey, though, how little people here seem to care about college football. And those who care about college football do not care about Rutgers.

But exposure is a good thing.

I get MSG in Buffalo, but im not sure if they will have this game. The NYC MSG differs a little bit from Buffalo MSG.

MSG which is the home of the Knicks and Rangers doesnt play Rangers games in Buffalo, friggin Sabres games are on MSG.

The Sabres playing on MADISON SQUARE GARDEN network, and i cant get to watch my Rangers at UB.

Can anyone on here please explain blackout rules to me? I thought blackouts were for the local markets when games weren't sold out. Why would a game be blacked out a 1000 miles from where it's happening?

Any info is appreciated, as I'm considering the DirecTV sports pack for the MLB stretch run and College Football.

The reason I say this may get blacked out is because if this is designated as the Big East Game of the Week, MSG only owns the rights to the broadcast within the NYC market. Time Warner owns the game through much of the upstate NY area, and WNGS owns the rights in Buffalo. Outside of NYC, MSG would be blacked out.

As for the Rangers fan, deal with it. You are in Buffalo, an NHL market with a team did happen to go a lot farther than the Blueshirts. ;-) I grew up in the suburbs of Buffalo and they did televise the Rangers until the NHL began enforcing blackout rules about 12 years ago. When I was in college at Canisius, my roommate was from Connecticut and they would show the replays of the Rangers games after midnight and he watched them at that time. That was about five years ago.
