Because that would be too damn logical.

Television. And dramatic effect.

Yeah, ABC does a "BCS show" where they analyze the final results and upcoming BCS bowl games. 03-melodramatic 01-lauramac2 03-yawn

Have the MACC be played at 12pm on sunday. Then do the BCS show later that afternoon or in the evening. Otherwise, just put the MACC on saturday. Get rid of the Lousiville game or the West Virginia game and replace it with the MACC. After all, if Louisville beats West Virgina, or vice versa, then one of them won't be playing in the NC, so who cares. If ESPN doesn't want to televise it on saturday then have Fox Sports televise it. The MAC needs to stop being a pushover. No one respects pushovers.

Great idea, put the MAC Championship game up against the NFL. It isn't being a pushover, it is wanting to get the game on ESPN for exposure for the conference. The game wouldn't get half the exposure on FSN that it would on ESPN.

Yes, because everyone is watching it on thursday. 01-wingedeagle
A helluva lot more are watching it on Thursday Night on ESPN then they would Sunday afternoon on Fox Sports Net (or ESPN for that matter) while the NFL is on.

Doubtful! If college games couldn't compete against NFL games then why does ESPN still play them on sunday? How about on saturday Mr. know-it-all?
Not to burst your bubble, but there is a difference between Ohio State playing Michigan, Texas playing Oklahoma, Notre Dame playing USC, and NIU going up against Akron in the MAC Championship Game. Much more interest nationally in the former. Of course I would rather watch NIU/Akron, but that is because I am an NIU and MAC fan. There are reasons the MAC has to play mid-week games to get on ESPN. Why would the NFL want to go up against CFB when they don't have to? Of course if the NFL went up against CFB the ratings would go down, but college football ratings would go down also.

Not to burst your bubble, but Ohio State doesn't play on sundays. Neither do most of those other teams you just mentioned.
No sh!t. Now lets try to read your post again.

You made it seem like the MAC Championship game would take away ratings from the NFL.

Now lets read my post again.

My point was, yes College Football would take away ratings from the NFL (which is why they don't play NFL games on Saturday), but the MAC Championship game won't. The MAC Championship game gets better ratings on a Thursday night then it would on a Sunday at noon. I really doubt anybody that isn't you would argue that.

Get it?

You can't argue the MACC would draw better on a thursday than a sunday when it hasn't been played on ESPN on a sunday before. When is the last time the MACC game was on a sunday?

Do you get it?

You are unbelieveable. First of all, where did I say Ohio State and Michigan play on Sundays? I was telling you why the NFL doesn't play games on Saturday. Second of all if you have any common sense at all, you would know that the MACC would get worse ratings going up against the NFL. If you can't see that you are hopeless.

You're the dumba$$ trying to argue against something that has never happen. In order to compare something like we are talking about both things would have to have happened before. The MACC game has not been played on ESPN on a sunday. So you can't compare it to being played on ESPN on a thursday. 04-chairshot
