According to Wright Waters in the "Ask the Commissioner" for June, all DI-A conferences are now BCS. From what I have read this means that all of us are going to get a bigger slice of the $$$ pie.

Sorry to appear skeptical, or negative, but what I want to know is since we are all now BCS schools what is the possibility that any of us will ever see the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, or Orange bowl? For example if Troy goes undefeated, beating Marshall, Missou, LSU, and South Carolina along the way, could we get to a BCS bowl?
What if one of our schools filled its OOC schedule with juggernauts, would they get the credit for SOS that other 'big conferences' get?
I would rather have a legitimate shot at the national championship or a major bowl than just a few more bucks. Are we getting both in this deal or have the Sun Belt, WAC, MW, MAC, and CUSA all just sold out?

Again, I'm sorry if I ruffle any feathers, but the frequent visitors here know that I'm an enthusiastic supporter of the Sun Belt, and I really try not to be negative. I'm just curious and a little suspicious of this deal we've cut with the 'big conferences'.

GO TROJANS! GO SUN BELT!

well, at the moment, I would rather that than what we get right now. I do want the ability to play for a national championship, but to get that level, we will need the $ for the coaches/recruiting/better facilities, and as I look at it, $$ is the great equalizer.

Money is the great equalizer and that is why there is such a large difference between the BCS and the non-BCS. Of course it is not fair that their are several coattasil schools that should not be collecting all of the BCS money while strong teams such Troy, Marshall, Boise St, UNT, Utah, Toledo all get screwed.
What has Baylor, Vanderbilt, Duke, Rutgers, Temple, Indiana done recently to warrant raking in the millions of dollars that their bretheren win?

I would love for a small-time team come out and knock the teeth in of a Big BCS team.
This year will be our chance.
Can Troy beat Mizzou and S.Car. very possible.
Can UNT beat UT or Colorado? 1 out of 2 is very possible?

Just Win guys and we will get our chances. 04-cheers

Be rated #12 and make the BCS bowl? Sure. Be rated #1 or #2 and make the title game? Need a helluva lot of help. BYU got that in 1984. First no one else finished undefeated. Second only two schools had just one loss. Washington and Florida (who also had a tie). Third there was either a world of parity or bad football at the time. Miami managed to be ranked in the top 20 with five losses. The 2002 Colorado team is the only team since to match that feat. Finally BYU was helped by going undefeated over 13 games instead of 12 for other bowl teams.
