Rumor on the Delphi board has it that JC transfer and expected starting TE Tommy Briggs will not be back in the fall. I saw where RaginCajun77 had spoke to some players (I believe) and confirmed this rumor. My question is, has anyone seen or heard anything about our other JC TE Xavier Campbell? Is he on campus for the summer? Is he eligible? I was impressed with Briggs in the spring but if Campbell shows up and is half as good as advertised, we will be fine. We still would have

Jr. Xavier Campbell
Sr. Lawrence Johnson
So. Kevin Belton
Fr. Erik Jones

If Campbell does not show or is not a real "pass catching" TE, Jones will be forced to step up sooner than expected. Not saying it cannot be done just hope it does not have to be done.

Yes I did, report that on Delphi, was gonna come here and report as well. I spoke with one of the football players today and he said Tommy Briggs was most likely not coming back. He also said Briggs blew off the last 3 weeks of Spring semester and would most likely be academically ineligible if he came back. Briggs didn't like it here in Louisiana and preferred the California life. When I see my contact again I will ask him about the other TE prospects.

On a side note their is a certain O-Lineman that is getting bigger and stronger every time I see him.

Well that sucks, I hope we see Campbell come and take the starting spot. I was hoping that Jones would redshirt this year to get bigger, stronger and faster.

What about the senior TE? Johnson's been playing behind Joerg for 4 years. The fall will be interesting.

Johnson is a good blocking TE, but his strength hasn't been catching the football. We will need him and Campbell to make a good combo at that position. Unless Johnson has a great year and shows everyone that he can make the catches and cover the position by himself.

The loss of Briggs is not a huge obstacle. It will be overcome.

Now, if somebody tells me we lost Bradley too, I will blow a gasket.
