Per Montgomery Advertiser article:
Troy game against Missouri on ESPN
What's been an open secret for months will become official soon -- possibly even this week. Troy University's Sept. 9 home game against Big 12 foe Missouri will be nationally televised by ESPN.
This is a huge development for Larry Blakeney's team as the nation's attention will be focused on Troy for that one Thursday night early in the season. ESPN's Gameday crew -- Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso -- will be in town to do the game, as they do for most of ESPN's Thursday night games.
The Trojans have been on TV before, but not on this kind of stage. This is Troy's first nationally televised game since moving up to Division I, and certainly will create the most significant exposure the team's ever received.

This would be an awesome opportunity to put the SBC football name and logo out there for a national audience; Troy has a good chance of either beating Mizzou or giving them a darn good game.
Go Troy -- Beat Mizzou!!!

Thanks for the scoop BlueRaiderPride
This Missouri game is *huge* for Troy. We're showing the world that we can attract top level football teams to Troy and I have a good feeling that we'll show the world that we can beat them.
I have to admit, Herbstreit and Corso can get pretty irritating, especially when they start talking about non-BCS/BCS issues, but it is a special even when ESPN chooses to show *your* school on national TV. I think Troy University and the city of Troy are going to be excellent hosts and Movie Gallery Stadium is going to look great on the national stage.
GO TROJANS!
