Thanks, yes that article has been posted on ESPN for several days. That's the kind of publicity that Garrett needs for Heisman consideration, the Huskies need if we go through the season undefeated for BCS bowl consideration and frankly that the conference needs in order to gain some national spotlight and respect.

I also look forward to the 3 game series the MAC has with the Big 12 North. Since 2000 the MAC has a 6-10 record vs the Big 12 North which is quite good considering the small number of games played at MAC venues. Toledo plays Kansas at home and Iowa St on the road. Ohio plays at Missouri. A MAC sweep would give the conference a 9-10 overall record vs a BCS division. This is a great talking point to use in discussions with MAC bashers.

Those 5 division titles for UT are the ones in which they played in the MACC Game. If you counted co-division titles where UT did not play in the MACC Game, then it would be 7 for Toledo.

I am sorry, did I say something that another in a long line of Rockette fans didn't like? My point was for him to stop his comments before he hurts the feelings of many here. Then remind him that the MAC is the MAC Daddy of all conferences and should be treated as such. All hail the MAC! 04-bow

He should be grateful that NIU is allowed to play superior teams like Akron. What other conference offers such opportunity?

34-36 over 6 years is nothing to get excited about, it's sad that a below .500 record is 5th best in a 12 team conference. 04-rock 04-chairshot

Akron has seen improvement recently and they are at a level that is generating some buzz for the first time. Akron could become the main threat in the east over the next several years. They are landing solid recruits and are working towards a new stadium. Keeping JD Brookhart their long term may be key to them saying on top.

BGSU 35-14 .714
NIU 34-14 .708
Miami 35-15 .700
Toledo 35-16 .686
Akron 24-24 .500
CMU 17-29 .370
WMU 17-29 .370
Ball St 17-29 .370
EMU 14-32 .304
Ohio 14-32 .304
Kent St 14-32 .304
UB 5- 41 .109

Just 4 teams above .500 over last 4 seasons.
all 4 have winning seasons all 4 years. Akron with 3 winning seasons in a row is 20-16 (.555) over last 3 season. No 10 wins season for any MAC teams last two years. Results still show that no much has changed over last few years. Same teams are on top and same on the bottom. Akron is trending higher, but 4 top teams still very strong.

Since 4 of the 5 schools that are .500 or above are Ohio schools and the past 2 basketball champs are Kent St. and Ohio, maybe the MAC should lose some deadweight by dropping the non-Ohio schools to 1AA(D1-playoff). 04-chairshot ;-)

Only 4 MAC programs have .500 or greater records over the past 6 years. Why did Chryst want to add another program with a record of futility on the gridiron (Temple)? If the MAC is going to drop programs to 1AA (Gateway Conference) Kent and possibly Ohio should go along with Buffalo and EMU.

NIU would sooner go independent again before going back to 1AA. Ball State probably feels the same way. I don't know about Buffalo though. I could see them going back to 1AA, but it seems like they've made the commitment to 1A since they are getting a new coach and spending more money on football.

Are you sure you want to drop NIU to 1AA? How will it look when a 1AA defeats the #1 team in the nation? tOSU will be the laughing stock of college football. Not to mention, all those new jerseys you/Buckeye fans hate will be retired so fast that it will almost be like they never existed. Actually that will probably be the only thing keeping tOSU fans from committing suicide(figuratively speaking).

Retired? They'd be burned in effigy and likely blamed for the Buckeye collapse much like the cubs blamed Steve Bartman for losing the 03 NLCS for them. lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao 04-chairshot 05-mafia 04-rock 05-stirthepot

Back to 1-AA?? We have been University Division or 1-A since 1969. The only time we were 1-AA was for one year--1982--when a number of MAC teams were reclassified 1-AA for some reason.

Bad attendance. It was a one year problem, fixed quickly.
