Fox Sports sez: With a defense that is going to be as green as the beautiful Jonesboro grass, it's a no-brainer that Jacobs is going to have to step up his performance - in his two years as a starter, the Indians have averaged a paltry 20 points per game on offense.
Question: Is there anyone that thinks he can truly get the job done or do we need one of the other QBs to step it up?

Quote:So, how did the Indians 'key' spend his spring? Hitting the baseball, or trying to. He has split his spring practice time with the baseball squad, where he's hitting a buck twenty-nine with one strikeout every two times he steps to the plate. Okay, so maybe the potential is there for him to be great in baseball; that is a question more for Peter Gammons or Jayson Stark, but those Mendoza line numbers show that he could have put his time to better use, maybe taking every offensive snap during the spring? Say what you will about spring practice, but Jacobs, one of the few three-year starters, needed time to gel with his receivers, Jerome Stegall , Chuck Walker and the diminutive Gary Vincent , to become a much more cohesive and explosive unit.
Does not sound good for Jacobs

I personally think he can NOT get it done; he is available, he has experience (???), so . . .
Without a decent QB it will be another long season; I just hope one of the backups can take his job away FAST!!!!
