BG/UCLA first round
At the half BG down 42 - 28.

UCLA hitting 70% from the field and BG hitting only 29.6% from the field.

The positive is that neither of these percentages will continue into the second half.

Just kidding, but a win here would really stick it to the selection committee.

BG pulled into within 5 points and then UCLA hit a hot streak of threes.

Now down 8 with 8mins left. The three point shots are not falling for BG at all.

UCLA moves on to play Purdon't.

74-61. Falcons couldn't work the glass and get the outside shots going.

Great game and a great season!

You know, if BG had received the seed they deserved (no lower than 9), they likely would have fared much better.

Yeah, BG did get hosed in the seeding. A team ranked in the top 25, but gets no better than 12 seed is ludacris!

I don't BG was hosed with their seeding. The committee looked at BG's overall work and it wasn't that good considering how awful MAC women's b-ball is. No one in the conference is great outside of BG, EMU and Kent St. I don't know about BG's OOC but if they were playing cupcakes, like all MAC schools, that would have played a role.
Outside of that BG did have an excellent year and should 3-peat having all their starters returning.

It still seems odd that BG was ranked 21st and UCLA 23rd, but UCLA got the 5 seed and BH the 12.

But as previously mentioned, in hindsight, it looks like the seedings were appropriate.

I wonder if BG should become "road warriors" next season to up their schedule?

I don't know if they were "appropriate". Clearly UCLA was better than BG, but does that mean BG shouldn't have received a 9 or 10 seed? or even an 8 seed?

BG was ranked in the 20's...shouldn't they have had a decent shot at making the top 32 by being given a respectable seed?

Its the power conference bias. If I remember correctly, Kent State's 2002 men's elite eight team was ranked somewhere between 20 and 25 going into the tournament and received a 10 seed. The disparity can be even greater in the women's game because it doesn't get as much attention. The committee can get away with more.
