FWIW, According to the College Football Data Warehouse: Middle Tennessee leads the all time series that started back in 1925, 12-7-1. However, the last game was played way back in 1954. I just found this interesting.

Even back when our current AD, Boots Donnelly, was head coach, Middle Tennessee has tried at every available opportunity to get a series going with memphis, but they are almost as bad as vandy at not returning phone calls.

I guess they're satisfied to have a losing record against Middle Tennessee.

I'll be the first person to say i wish we were playing MTSU...it would be fun but right now...we're pretty full...we have 4-6 year contracts with...Ole Miss, Arkansas State, and UT...that only leaves 1 free game...but i agree playing MTSU would be cool....BUT...it looks like ya'll will get a chance in basketball...good luck.

Go Tigers!!!

I do not agree with in-state schools not playing each other either. We love to play LaTech, Tulane and ULM. LSU just played us a couple of seasons ago after many, many years. I am not saying we should play each other every year but at least every 2 or 3 to keep things going.

Unless that "in state" school is from Division 1-AA or lower. Then those type of games should be limited to eliminated. And the only reason why I say that is because when a 1-A plays a school from a lower division, that win or loss does not count toward attendance averages, nor does it count toward bowl eligibility except once every four years I believe. In-state rivarlies between schools of the same division are good though.

I agree, even though I did not say that in my first post I did mean to exclude 1-AA's for the reasons you stated.

Last thing I heard we were not playing Memphis--maybe that has changed if the game was moved to November. The game was originally scheduled for December, 2 games after Steve Thomas becomes eligible, and that game was canceled by Calipari.

We are expecting an NCAA berth this year, so we should be pretty tough if our team chemistry is there.

If we do play, I'll be there. My younger bro goes to school at UofM.

Wish ya'll would play us in football............we've been trying for years now
