NEW ORLEANS — UL’s athletic program put a total of 105 student-athletes on the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List and Academic Honor Roll announced Tuesday by the league office.
In all, more than 1,000 league athletes representing the conference’s 18 championship sports and 13 member schools were named to the list. All maintained a 3.00 or higher grade point average during the 2003-04 academic year.
The Commissioner’s List includes student-athletes who had a 3.50 or higher GPA during the year, while the Academic Honor Roll is a list of student-athletes who maintained an average of 3.00 to 3.49. The Ragin’ Cajun program had 43 athletes on the Commissioner’s List and 62 on the Academic Honor Roll.
The Cajun baseball and soccer teams tied for the most combined honorees, with 15 each on the two lists. The soccer team had the most athletes named to the Commissioner’s List with nine making a 3.50 or higher GPA.
