The Bearcats have been a big dissapointment in the recruiting wars.

The fact is, UC is just not going to clean up the state of Ohio in the recruiting wars behind OSU. UC is a weak BCS school, and Ohio is the MAC heartland.

Miami, Bowling Green, Toledo, and Akron are strong mid major schools for the MAC and OU on its overall school popularity and facilites is pretty competitive. Even Kent State is getting more serious about its football team.

It would make a lot of sense for the Big East to raid the MAC to strengthen its football presence in Ohio.....

Zips have really been pretty strong this year and even in years past when it is coming to RB recruits. Dennis Kennedy from two years ago saw some significant playing time last year and looks like he will take over as the starter for graduating Brett Biggs. Alex Allen was redshirted last year and should push Kennedy for that job. We landed Andre Boone early in this years class who is a top 100 RB. Chris Wells was rumored to be considering Akron (although he had already committed to OSU). There is a kid out of PA who is the #2 recruit overall in the state and a top 10 RB in the country who may also be signing here. Can't really blame Reed if he wants to jump ship to the Bearcats. Akron is going to have a lot of competition in that backfield.

That would be a HUGE recruit for Akron.

Good Luck.

It would be nice to get McCoy,but he'll probably end up at Va.Tech or Penn State.

Yeah, my gut tells me he is going to end up at VaTech. I don't know if I really want him anyways. A lot of what I read about him sounds like he has a serious attitude problem. Apparently he got into a fight with one of the Penn State veterans at a recruiting visit (possibly Michael Robinson) although that has not been confirmed really. He is already comparing himself to Barry Sanders (huge ego to have for a High School kid) and he is also coming off of a pretty serious leg injury. I'm not so sure we wouldn't be better off with Kennedy, Allen and Boone (the kid out of Virginia who is ranked I believe the #37 RB in the country by rivals). McCoy just scares me a little bit. I would be happy if we could land him though. Like I said my gut is saying VaTech.

Do you KNOW this? Do you have inside info? Obviously, based on ranking, this kid would be one of the best recruits to sign with a MAC school...ever.

FYI, on their official website, Va. Tech. has a list of kids who signed LOI. They are updating it throughout the day. As of 2:05 EST, this McCoy kid was not on their list. Nor does Rivals have him signed with Penn. St.

McCoy is not signing with the zips. It is between USC and Miami per Rasor's blog today.

Kiss my butt. A number of the posts immediately before the "Signed with Zips" post concerned McCoy, not Reed.
