That's a pretty big positive if you ask me. Plus, better opponents would mean more fans, better recruits, etc etc.
C-USA would not provide
us with better opponents. And, I'm curious to see how long C-USA keep those five bowls.

After all the expenses from the SVFC, we probably did not make any money. Yes we were awarded more money from the conference since we did go to a bowl, but we spent that extra money for the trip. Honestly, we probably would have made more money staying at home, but all in all it is worth the expenses.

With 5 bowl tie-ins how do you pay for the travel for our other teams? What if we do not get one of the 5 bids. Remember 10 years no MACC yet.

Why do you think C-USA brings better opponents? Toledo was the #3 MAC team and we beat the #3 C-USA team 45-13.

Look at the top teams in C-USA this past year. Do you think that games against the top 3 (UTEP, Tulsa, and UCF), would draw more interest to NIU football games? UCF was already in the MAC and I doubt your fans cared about them then. UTEP is in the Western part of Texas and Tulsa is somewhere in Oklahoma. I don't see how people in Chicago would care about either of those schools.

Marshall thought they were going to see an increase in attendance with going to C-USA and they didn't........and they fit much better with C-USA, geographically speaking, then NIU does.
