Arkansas State will have a new starting quarterback this fall.
Elliot Jacobs has opted to give up his final season of football eligibility in order to concentrate on baseball, head football coach Steve Roberts said Sunday night. Jacobs has started ASU’s last 24 games at quarterback.
Roberts said Jacobs informed him of the decision Sunday afternoon.

I hope Devin Hollins steps up and takes charge; we need a solid athlete at QB. He was recruited by Wisconsin as a QB/Athlete; will he be able to lead ASU to victory after victory after victory?

I think Elliot took on some tough, undue criticism. I wish him well in baseball.

I tell ya what, whoever is the starter is going to have their hands full.

I think Noce will start, with Hicks #2, Hollins #3, & Gauthreaux. Travis Hewitt is an incoming freshman who should be red-shirted & should start in a couple of years.

I think Hollins will take over by the third or fourth game.
