Akron up on Mississippi State in San Juan Shootout
Akron is leading Mississippi State with under 2 min. in the game. Winner plays Clemson for the SJ Shootout Championship tomorrow I believe.

Akron wins 83-72; their first ever win over an SEC team.
Mississippi State falls to 8-3 on the year but now that I look at their schedule, Akron may be the best team they have played all year. At least playing the SEC will improve their RPI and make this win look much better for Akron and the MAC.
The Zips are now 5-2 and will face 10-0 Clemson (RPI #66) on Wednesday.

This is a big day for the MAC. Several winnable games out there today.
I'd love to see Miami beat Wichita St. and NIU beat Kansas State.

Hey, you can root for Michigan! But when you live in South Carolina... there are TWO teams. Clemson and South Carolina. I identify with Clemson. Besides I really don't see Akron winning that one. :shhh:

Way to go Akron and NIU!! Miami blew it  Two losses in a row, and only 46 points scored last night. Very sad. But hey, with Buffalo playing well, and Akron and NIU and you have Ohio with only one loss, let's keep it going, and see if the MAC can get more than one team in the NCAAs this year!!
