Really... Novak couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag... REALLY. HE SUCKS. My dad and I sit around and watch EVERY game and keep saying "This guy sucks" Tell me you were not thinking the same thing in EVERY game this year. Tell me you didn't think the same thing tonight... Do you think the coach for Akron sucked? He was licking his chops... he knew that he had a chance... coaching against Novak... (thing about this) with a two score deficit with three seconds left on the clock... he'd still be licking his chops.
I did not, no go away!!!

Yeah... emotions... what's winning? Awe, who cares... I don't care if we win or lose... I have no emotion on that at all. Isn't it just nice to see the Huskies on the field regardless if we win or not? I mean, does winning really matter? heck no Napoleon

Control your emotions and use your head. Coach Joe took this inexperienced, injury-ridden team fartrher than it ever should have gone. In the end we came up one friggin yard short. One yard. If we make the 1st down on that last series we win. Next year: MAC title.

Fire the D coordinator that SOB.  Did he just fall off the turnip truck?  @$$hole.

God I am furious right now.  Coaching the little kids I would have had them back on the goal line.  We don't care about stats, only keeping them out of the end zone.  Field goal does nothing.
Novak hired the D coach - so he takes the blame. Fire them both then.
and who exactly do you suggest to replace him? earlier this morning we were talking about how we can keep him here longer, tonight its how fast we can get him out the door.
Actually, they were talking about the O coach this morning.

Good luck to yuz guys next year. But we've got you in DeKalb this time.

And, BTW, you guys really do deserve the GMAC more than we do. 8-3 beats 7-5 hands down.

Question for you Schlepko, How long do we give "Jud the Dud" before he can finally have consecutive winning seasons? Do you think that Jud will underachieve yet again this year?

I wont say Joe has to go unless he is so set in his ways and with his staff. Changes are needed!! If that is coordinators, so be it. The 4th quarter may have been the worst 15 minutes of FB we played all season.

No that would be the Ball St game.

This game's 4th quarter was all about playing "Bend, but don't win defense!"

Congrats on a great game and I'm sorry for the L you guys took.

I can't believe you guys are turning on your coach like this. You guys FINALLY got to the MACC and you lost. It happens, look how many times Toledo lost in the MACC. Your coach is responsible for taking quite possibly one of the worst D-1 teams and turning them into a contender that gets on TV and has some national respect.

You have the expectations that you do because of that very coach. He made your team winners and now you lose a game and want him out..............NIU is not Nebraska coming off a National Championship.

Take a deep breath and relax a few minutes............you guys beat Toledo and went to the MAC Championship game......both being huge accomplishments. That is a great season...........and don't let this loss make you forget that. Novak is the reason you we there tonight.

michaelsmetko Wrote:Hooray!!!  Somebody else finally realizes what I knew after 3 years, Novak is not a good coach.  For his first 3 years he ran all of the existing players off.  Then he proceeded to bemoe the fact that he had no players.

Then because of our AD, he proceeded to get a 5 year rollover.  He has ha 10 years, one bowl bid, one MAC championship game.  Is that good enough?

If Rob Judson does not get us in the MAC  finals or an NCAA bid before 10 years, fire him.

What happened to our offense?  With 2 minutes to go 1 first down and the game is over.  Joe goes into a shell, what kind of defence were we playing?  Face the facts, we need a new coach.
yeah his 1st 3 years he got rid of sadlers crap and turned the program around. He's done more here than any other coach has. what was teh preseaon thoughts on this team? remember this was a rebuilding year, we weren't favored to win the division. This team was a heck of a lot better then was anticipated. I'm disappointed in this game but the season was better than a lot of people figured it was going to be. I remember a lot of 5-6, 4-7, 6-5 predictions before this year started.

Hey, my local Jr tackle team has an opening... maybe Joe can be the water boy? Maybe we can win the YMCA this year... lets start small and work our way up to beating an elite team like Akron ONCE out of two trys!

Nice post

There's a certain percentage of people that get this way after any loss, a few more for any MAC loss, and I'm guessing losing with the promised land in sight like that has a few more feeling that way.

I don't get this mindset, never have, never will. Some people just don't know how to take losses.

Hey, guys! Since when does winning a division title equate to a failure of a season? What the he** is the matter with us? When did losing a championship game become a disgrace? Some of you remind me of the spoiled brat St. Louis Rams and their fans when they lost the SB to New England in 2002. They all pronounced the season a "failure" and declined the city's offer of a welcome home parade. Well, that no-class bunch of whiners haven't been near the top since then.

Let show some NIU class, huh?

Again...
what's a loss...?
WHO cares...?
I don't care if we have the worst record in the country... it's not about winning right, I mean isn't it about education and stuff? I don't watch the games becasue I want us to win... I just do it just because... just becasue... sometimes you can see butterflies on the field... that's pretty. I don't care if we win... look at all the butterflies.
