MONROE, LA--University of Louisiana at Monroe football games will be carried over Monroe and Shreveport radio stations while the new home of the Indian highlights television program will be KARD-TV, it was announced this week.

Radio coverage in northeastern Louisiana of Indian football games in 2004 will again be provided through KJLO, FM 104, in Monroe. Coverage in northwestern Louisiana will be through Shreveport station KYSR, FM 92.1.

The arrangements for Indian radio and television coverage were announced by ULM Athletics Director Bobby Staub and Brian Moreau, executive director of the Indian Athletic Foundation.

For the 28th year, Frank Hoffmann will serve as the voice of the Indians. Hoffmann, who holds three degrees from ULM including the doctorate, became the play-by-play announcer for Indian games in 1977 after earlier serving as the school's public address announcer and radio color man.

Hoffmann will be joined again by another veteran member of the ULM radio team, former baseball coach Lou St. Amant--beginning his 20th year as the color commentator--while former athletics director Bruce Hanks takes over as sideline reporter replacing Tag Rome.

Sponsors of the radio broadcasts of Indian football are CenturyTel, Citgo, AllTel, Bank One and State Farm.

The television program featuring Coach Weatherbie and highlights of Indian games will make its first appearance on KARD-TV, channel 14, on Sunday night, September 5, at 9 p.m. The highlights show is produced by Wayne Gentry of Showcase Productions.
