Indians’ Walker eager to take on Mizzou

Chuck Walker might have an ax to grind with the University of Missouri. But if he does, he’s not letting anyone know it.
Walker, a 3-year starter at wide receiver for Arkansas State, was recruited by Missouri as a high school player. His 4.4 speed earned him attention from Big Ten schools as well as a few from the Big 12. But when the Tiger program underwent a coaching change in 2000, Walker’s hopes of a scholarship offer to one of his favorite schools slowly faded away.

When Missouri and Arkansas State open the season this Saturday night in Columbia, Mo., it will no doubt be a special game to Walker, who is one of five Indians from the state that rests directly north of the Arkansas border. “I used to pull for Missouri a lot when I was younger,
