That should definitly count, because it shows team discipline
How can coaches control the discipline of the opposing team???
Read my post again. I didn't say team penalties, I said opponent's penalties.

Yeah, it's kind of a silly stat, but it can tell you something - it can tell you if you're getting help from the opposition, or at least forcing the opposition into mistakes.
Interestingly, the three top contenders for the MAC West have gotten the least help from their opposition, while Miami may be getting the most help - considering they won this weekend off a missed EP, that would lend a bit of credence to such a conclusion.

Regardless it is good to have Central back where they belong- competing in Late October, and I also think Eastern has really stepped up ( tough losses will pay off)
I've said it all year and I will now predict NIU as MAC and MACC champs
If you ever wondered over to our board you would find that we did not cry that we lost at Fresno because we didn't have Bruce. Special teams lost that game, no doubt about it.
Yes it was embarrasing but in the end what really matters? The MAC Championship and it will be a repeat.

And if they don't do it this year, then next year will be the year. :D
But seriously, I think this is the year we beat Toledo. I said it on the Toledo board, mark it down.
How many years have they been saying that? I know I know the old saying "they are due" but if that was true wouldn't it have happened about five years ago?

If by most you mean 11 out of the 30 statistics kept by the MAC.
Just for you HD, from Vandelay's site. I think these are some of the more important stats, don't you?
[code:1]Toledo leads the MAC in scoring offense (39.4 ppg), scoring defense (18.6 ppg allowed), total defense (295.9 ypg allowed), rushing defense (113.7 ypg allowed), pass efficiency defense (109.6 rating), fewest sacks against (8), fewest first downs allowed (124), best third down conversion percentage (51.1) and is tied for first in turnover margin (+8, 1.14 per game)

Except without the arrogance, stupidity, delusions and the twang. Other than that, I see your point.

Let's all just face the music. The MAC is down big time this year. All and I mean [B][U]All of the good teams are in the West. CMU is doing a great job building a program but they are not ready for the spotlight. NIU is a very good football team, and if it hadn't been for that deplorable loss to Akron, everybody else would agree that they might be the favorite.
However, as much as it pains me to say it, the MAC West crown does go through Toledo and I have a feeling that is where it will stay. I think NIU needs one more year, and they are going to be real scary!
Oh yeah, to all of you Toledo fan's that came to the NIU board and talked about how are OOC schedule wasn't that impressive this year either. FYI, NW hung 49 on Mich St. in E. Lansing and Michigan is again in the top 25 after back-to-back impressive victories over Iowa and undefeated Penn St. So throw that proposterous argument out the window.
Bottom line, Toledo, CMU and NIU are the three best teams in the MAC and we will all find out in which order they rank in the upcoming weeks.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember anyone saying that playing at Michigan and at NU was not impressive. I do remember saying that Michigan is down some this year, but that didn't mean that they weren't a good, tough opponent. I also remember saying that NU lost to Arizona State pretty bad, but again that didn't mean that they weren't a good, tough opponent.
A couple of the NIU fans argued that Michigan and Arizona State were Top 5 programs this year, and I disagreed. But that didn't mean that I thought Michigan and NU were not impressive opponents.
And your 3rd OOC opponent was a I-AA school, but many MAC schools played I-AA schools.

OK. Lets put together an indeminfication agreement whereby you will pay any and all losses I might have as the result of betting on Toledo. I'm not a conflicts expert, but I'll go with Ohio law (as hard as it is to find).

I don't live in Ohio and I think that one of us would have to live in Ohio in order to use their laws.
