Quote:All but the game at Ball State last week is on TV in some way or another, and they are channels that more people know about than a channel that used to be known as PAX and is now called I TV or whatever the heck it is.
Ball State/Ohio and EMU/Miami are both being shown on Comcast Local in the Detroit area. Looks like I have my viewing for tomorrow pretty well planned-out.

In case you misunderstood, those were cookies for Marshall, for getting on TV. As for the rest, we only lost by five at your place last year. So far, Toledo has beaten two teams with a combined 1-12 record on the road. What happened the last time you played an away game against a team with a winning record? I can't seem to recall... :monty:
I wasn't referring to Marshall, but the "CMU 3-0 against the State of Ohio".The last MAC team with a winning record the Rockets played on the road was at
NIU in 2004.NIU was ranked in the Top 25 and UT won 31-17. BTW, CMU hasn't beaten anyone with a winning record this year. Our common opponent is EMU:
EMU@ CMU 23-20 OT
EMU@ UT 30-03

From my comfy chair at my house, I have had the ability to watch EVERY CUSA team play in EVERY one of their games this entire season... until tonight's Tulane-UCF game which is on ESPNU (my cable provider doesn't offer ESPNU).
I know it's all relative, but from my vantage point, the media coverage of CUSA has been outstanding! The CSTV production quality obviously isn't up to ESPN standards (nor up to the production of the old Thundering Herd network for that matter), but I will trade that for the ability to watch every conference member play every weekend.

I would probably rather be on PAX than CSTV.
I would rather be on ESPN2 than PAX.
I'd rather Pax, wouldn't you? Oh, wait that was Rax. Anyone remember Rax restaurants??

Ah. I see. Well, worst-case I'll change it to "against the MAC East."

Akron had a winning record when we played the Zips. As for EMU, that loss still bugs me, but I think EMU's offense is actually regressing with Bohnet playing on a gimpy ankle. I think CMU is the better team at this time.
At any rate, have a nice romp against Buffalo. After all, we want your players coming into Mt. Pleasant footloose and carefree. :D

Congrats to UTEP. They have always had good attendance in both football and basketball.
What that has to do with Marshall though, I don't know.
Oh, and quit saying national tv (PAX or I TV or whatever). That is worse than someone bragging about being on ESPNU.

You also see Northwestern fans bragging about Michigan's 110,000 in attendance.
I think your grasping for straws. CUSA is about exciting as watching paint dry.

Papa Lou BSU- I was referring to Comcast Local (which is the Michigan one) not Comcast Sportsnet out of Chicago. Comcast Sportsnet isn't bad- it is on my Direct TV and has all the teams you mention.
Comcast Local out of Michigan- I can't get anywhere.
PAX- I can watch Marshall vs UTEP- if I want to- in Cleveland tonight. I can't watch Miami vs EMU- which I would love to do.

Watching Marshall getting their butt kicked on "national" TV is great!
Grambling ST. playing on BET, is that considered playing on "national" TV?

Well, the Herd may have been uncompetitive tonight, but I will grant you that the announced crowd of 52K was legit in El Paso tonight....saw clips of the game and there definitely was a SRO crowd on hand.

UTEP certainly deserves to be commended. But I don't know about the "always" part of your statement.
Here are some sample years and UTEP's average attendance over the past two decades:
2005 47,992
2003 20,009
2000 44,715
1998 20,145
1995 21,144
1987 42,086
1984 19,433
Even their lower years are pretty good by our relative standards, but UTEP definitely has huge rollercoaster swings directly related to on-the-field performance. Indeed, the casual-fan bandwagon shows up in full force... when they win.

I consider 20K good attendance from a school that went 2-9 and 3-8. Certainly no MAC school would average 20K with a 2-9 or 3-8 record.

How about 4 and 8 with an average of 22,396 (WMU 2001)

This is by far the stupidest post I have ever read -- especially since Marshall got destroyed 31-3!!
Marshall fans truly are the dumbest.

Sounds like a good crowd in El Paso. Assuming that the TV ratings were similar to the i/CSTV broadcast from a couple of weeks ago, one out of every four people who saw that game saw it live -- despite the national [sic] broadcast.

Surprise...surprise....it was on in Chicagoland. (to be honest, I never knew where to find this PAX station, but it's on a station that I currently don't see when I channel surf 'cause I previously had deleted it from my "favorites" due to the lame content of its programming. Anway, very late the UTEP game I somehow manually hit that number and lo and behold, it was the CSTV broadcast. Nice crowd in El Paso.
