I know we pick up the series again in 2005 but what happened this year?

Again, congrats on the big win Thur. Nite and the pub that you guys are getting is well deserved and as a UAB fan I'm both proud of you guys and envious as well. Continue giving it to the BCS programs.

Seriously, I heard the official story on this is that between Troy's new conference schedule and UAB wanting to play a couple of 'money' games it just couldn't be worked out. That is just what I've heard anyway.

The game was changed because UAB got a deal with Mississippi State. A home and away series with Miss St something like a 5-3.
This is the last game in the present contract. The contract states the game is to be played in the Crampton Bowl in Montgomery. This deal was signed about seven years ago. Troy has postponed the game twice.
Both schools need to money games a year.
Home games are getting weird.
Example: Two years ago USF and Baylor had a home and home series.
USF blasted Baylor and Baylor paid the USF fee and did not go to USF. USF had to play to Div II schools and amde it difficult to win six Div I games. Which they did not.
Look for BCS schools to back out of deals. Especially, if they lose the home by a large margin at home.

UAB and Troy need money games and in an 11 game season we couldnt pull it off for 2004.
