BOCA RATON — Florida Atlantic players had plenty of reason to celebrate Sunday.
Not only did the Owls defeat three-time Sun Belt Conference champion North Texas 20-13 on Saturday, but many of the players were able to sleep in their own beds for the first time since departing for Hawaii 11 days ago.
But when players reported to meetings Sunday in a mood that indicated they had put their defeat of the Mean Green behind them, it was Owls coach Howard Schnellenberger who felt like celebrating most of all.
