Arkansas State began preparations Monday for what head coach Steve Roberts called the most complete offense the Indians have faced thus far in 2004.
ASU welcomes 25th-ranked Memphis to Indian Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff Saturday. Quarterback Danny Wimprine threw for more than 200 yards in each of Memphis’ first two games while Tiger running back DeAngelo Williams, a former Wynne star, has rushed for 100-plus yards in each of his last 12 games.
The Indians allowed 52 points against Missouri and 53 against defending BCS national champion LSU, both of which were also in the Top 25.
