...how Missouri does against Troy State. I'm seriously trying to figure out how good you guys are. Like CMU, you haven't beaten a good team yet...unless Missouri is? Right now, based on the Tigers' record and opponents, I'm guessing they'd be a mid-level MAC team. Our game against BC tomorrow will also provide insight. Win or hang close with the Eagles, and we could be a West contender...

Looks like you're getting a bye at a good time: an extra week to prepare for the option. Not that it helped us last season...

What happened: we fumbled on each of our first two possessions, giving BC great field possession and the resulting ten points. Another promising drive was killed by two untimely penalties. Yet another resulted in a missed FG (41 yards into the wind, not really a surprise) . After that, it was a snowball effect. After a tough loss to Miami (FL), BC wanted to make a statement, and we never gave ourselves a chance in this game: 187 yards in the first half, won TOP, and yet no points. I think we rushed for more yards than anyone else against the Eagles, but it ultimately meant little.

The good news: a bye week to heal and patch the boat. I know we're a much better team than we showed on Saturday, but we need to start proving hat again. Especially our secondary.

Well, it appears you ambushed and beat a pretty good Missouri team at home. Revised opinion: Top five MAC team. It'll be interesting to see how you defend the option and move the ball against an OU defense that actually appears fairly solid.

wow...sounds like the classic snowball effect...
turnovers will kill every time...BC now 3-1 and a pretty good team.

How will BG fair against OU? I really cannot see OU stopping all our weapons consistently...and our defense held the vaunted Bobcat option to 105 yrds rushing in the 17-0 win in Athens last year.
We will have had 2 weeks to prepare for the option and BG's run defense is one of the best nationally...do they have any kind of passing game? Against Kansas, we had 15 yards of total offense in the 1st quarter and ended up with 503 total yrds....350 rushing.

I know anything can happen but I like BG to roll, 45-10.

I don't know that BG will get 40+, unless the defense or special teams contribute TDs. Ohio held Florida down, remember. It's turnovers that have largely killed the Bobcats. Since returning from a brief and disastrous flirtation with a "regular" offense, the Bobcats seem to be moving the ball again. I think BGSU wins by 14-20 points, scoring somewhere in the 30s.

So much for Bowling Green not scoring 40 points against Ohio.

Well, I made the mistake of thinking OU had a real defense. Of course, given Florida's loss to Ole Miss, holding the Gators to 34 doesn't look nearly as impressive anymore. Still, you guys could just be wizards against the option...
