It was a pretty good game and the statistics were pretty even. Both teams had the same number of first downs. Central Michigan ran for a little more than 200 yards which some of you doubted we could do. Central Michigan also had more total yards than Bowling Green. On the other hand, I thought the most impressive statistic for Bowling Green was third down conversions. But in the end the most important statistic was 45 - 35 Bowling Green. Although you won without dominating as you did during your first four games, the outcome of the game was never really in doubt.

I agree with one of the comments from a poster on the Chip Forum on mlive.com - Central Michgan lost the game on the play of special teams giving up 10 points on blocked punts - that was the difference in the game. I also agree with that poster's comment that the play of your quarterback was outstanding. We never had an answer for those plays that called for him to run with the ball.

I hope you win the rest of the way out. It was good to see your team in Mt. Pleasant again and it's good to be playing Bowling Green again every year. Next year it will be down there and pay back time.

I was equally impressed with CMU's O line and offense. Those boys up front are HUGE!
To CMU's credit, they didn't roll over when it got to 31-7. CMU will win at least 7 games I am convinced. Coach Meyer stated at the MAC Media Preseason meetings he thought CMU would win the West. I also thought you d did a great job covering our wr's...a quiet day for the most part.
I am soooooooo glad we didn't get beat by a punter!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> Blocking 2 punts was Huge for us.

Nice Stadium ya have there although your students trashed the new asphalt lot...don't they have trash cans there??? Nice renovation of the stadium and folks in Mt Pleasant are very nice...until you get to the stadium. Pretty hostile environment.

First BG win in Mt Pleasant in 10 years so I am a happy camper.
Good luck the rest of the season.
