<img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> I'm amazed for all the welcomes to a BB. This is going to be a good one.

Hoops13- Interesting to see a welcome from a Tar Heel from Chapel Hill. I'm a Carolina graduate (dating back to the Phil Ford 4 Corners era when Duke wasn't any good!) who has been in Buffalo for 10 years and come around full circle to become a bigtime midmajors fan.

For some of the posters who come to this board to poke fun of the Bulls and their pathetic athletic past, I know from my own experience that it is easy to identify yourself with a dominant athletic program and proclaim all others who root for "lesser" athletic programs to be inferior human being who need to be enlightened. For those I tell you that I found myself enjoying UB-Youngstown State or UB-Valparaiso BB games every bit as much as Carolina games, especially after they moved into that oversized arena south of Hinton James.

Carolina playing Duke isn't quite the thrill when you know that both teams are nationally ranked, will remain nationally ranked, will both make the NCAA tourney, will both lose players to the NBA but will reload with HS All-Americans the next year. Kind of a warped perspective when anything less than a national championship is a disappointing season. (yeah, I know that Matt & Company had a rough year last year.)

In the past, I wouldn't have been concerned that the BPS and RPI ratings are skewed toward the "power" conferences and schools. Now it infuriates me.

Anyway, looking forward to the upcoming FB and BB seasons and mixing it up with fellow MAC fans.
