It seems like every year Washington manages to pick up a transfer student from a lower division college/university. So what about it? Should the MAC try to do the same?

I don't respect UWash, but they are a big name, and it seems to be viewed as a compliment to snag a kid from one of these schools. At least I don't hear complaints from the other schools coaches when it happens. There seems to be a good relationship between all the parties involved.

I'm not sure that would be true in Ohio, as YSU and Mt Union play for Nat'l championships and wouldn't like losing their top talent (would it be different if it was tOAMU?) But, it is an intriguing idea (at least to me).

What would happen if the MAC started courting players from YSU, Mt Union, Baldwin Wallace, Ohio Northern, Dennison, Ohio Wesleyean, Findlay, Ferris St, Grand Valley St, Indianapolis, EIU, WIU and SIU?
NIU might find their QB. Akron could find a defensive lineman or two, maybe a DB or LB to boot.
Obviously there is a bevy of talent available; and I believe those 4th qtr slides would stop.

Good point Torch. The MAC schools who accomplish lower division transfers successfully would have a big advantage over those who don't.

How do you see BG recruiting shaping up for next year? Will Meyer bring in a blockbuster class?

I agree, Torch.

I'd like to see Miami pick up some kids from the lesser programs in our state. I'd love to have Josh Harris backing up Roethlisberger. I'd love to have Chad Brinker as a reserve tailback and special teams player. Tom Ward could certainly provide depth at the linebacker spot.

I don't know if I would want anyone from Akron, but the idea of taking players from the weak sisters of the state is certainly an intriguing one...

At Bowling Green, Roethlisberger would back up Harris. The two quarterbacks are great, but for incompatable offenses -- and I like our O more than your O.

In other words, you can have Roethlisberger. Harris is more fun to watch.

They are good in their own right. I haven't actually seen Harris play -- only Sahm. Really, I have no basis for comparison.

Is BG ever going to be on TV this year? I know Toledo is own a few more times, including the MACC game.

BG/Ohio will be televised 10/5 by the Ohio Sports Network. Where you are (or what cable you have) will determine if you can get it.

Actually, I don't think Toledo is on national TV, either. The West was compleely ignored by ESPN.

Is Fox Sports Net doing anything with MAC football this year?

I don't think I can bust on Harris too much without having seen him.

Anyway, the Miami v. UCF game will be on FoxSports and Sunshine, and the Miami v. Marshall game will be on ESPN2.

I believe the MAC has Fox Sports showing 6-8 games this yr...schedule to be decided at a later date. This is why I am very confident BG @ NIU will be on. I cannot make the trip to Dekalb this yr so I am hoping that game will be televised. It should be since it will have major implications as far as the West division title is concerned. GO BG!
