Reports from University of Central Florida indicate that UCF has petitioned the NCAA for major rules reform. The university also has filed a grievance, stating "unfair practices across the board." Finally, the university has announced that it will play the remainder of the season under protest.
Apparently one of UCF's complaints is that it thought is was playing in the Midwestern Athletic Conference, which the university argues has a BCS bowl tie-in. Marshall head coach, Bob Pruett, isn't buying it. He says UCf head coach Mike Kruczek "has his head up his @#%." The NCAA released a statement yesterday saying that it have never heard of the MWAC, but said it sounded like a good idea.
Another complaint registered by UCF and Kruczek is that the program thought that it was playing Australian Rules Football this year. "We prepared for this season by learning the new rules," said Kruczek. "In Australian Rules, you don't play on crowned fields."
UCF has also filed a formal complaint with God. "Our players like to be able to sleep in until 11:00 AM at least," said Kruczek. "It rained every afternoon, so we had to cancel practices for two weeks." The word is that it is raining even more in Orlando these days. When asked why the team couldn't practice at night, Kruczek said that "the players feel like it's too cold in Central Florida once the sun goes down..plus they like to start partying around 8:00 PM, so I had no choice but to cancel practices." Toledo head coach, Tom Astutz was quoted as saying, "yeah, like you can really file a formal complaint with God."
UCF has also fired its athletic trainer, citing him for allowing quarterback, Ryan Schneider, to have a "little ouchy." In a related note, UCF has also filed a lawsuit against Huggies. They alleg that Huggies diapers "don't make Schneider feel any more comfortable on the field."
In addition, UCF has filed a lawsuit against Vegas oddsmakers as well. School officials say that they have hurt the school's reputation for not making the team at least a 21 point favorite for every game.
Kruczek has also publicly repremanded Marshall University for not "laying over dead." Kruczek said in a statement from his office that "...we were NEVER supposed to lose a MAC game this year before moving onto the SEC next year. Marshall has ruined that and they will pay."
Finally, UCF is claiming that the MAC office lied to university officials when it tried to lure the Golden Knights into the conference. "They didn't tell us that MAC teams were any good," cried Kruczek.
