One of Jay Smith's primary targets for the Class of 2003 gave CMU a verbal commitment this week.

The Muskegon Chronicle is reporting that 6-5 WF Eddie Spencer of Muskegon Heights considered CMU his top choice all along.

The consensus Class C All-Stater is ranked among the top 20 players in the state for next year's class and is the athletic WF CMU has desparately needed to spark its offense.

Spencer will join 6-7 PF Justin Blevins (Marion) in next year's recruiting class. This leaves CMU with one remaining scholarship for next year with which CMU hopes to sign a big man to replace Chris Kaman.

The primary targets are 6-10 Kyle Visser (Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central) and 6-10 Kirk Walters (Grand Rapids South Christian).

Congratulations coaching staff on a job well done!

FIRE UP CHIPS!
