CMU is expected to sign at least one quarterback in this year's recruiting class. The State of Michigan is loaded with a number of quality prospects this year. One target, Dajuan Warren, has already verbally committed to Illinois.
1) Chris Lee (6-4, 185, 4.7) of Ypsilanti Lincoln - Left-handed QB who threw for 2,367 yards and 17 TDs last year and 1,604 yards as a sophomore. Lee also rushed for 300 yards and scored five TDs last season. He was honorable mention all-state as a junior and is considered one of the top dual-threat QBs in the state. Known suitors include CMU, EMU, WMU, U-M, Illinois, Notre Dame, Penn St. and Purdue.
2) Kevin Norris (6-3, 185, 4.5) of Detroit Martin Luther King - Another fine dual-threat QB prospect, Norris completed 45 percent of his passes for over 1,000 yards and added another 400 yards on the ground. Strong arm and very mobile. Carries a 3.2 GPA.
3) Kenny Bohnet (6-5, 195, 4.85) of Grand Ledge - Passed for 1,100 yards and seven TDs last season. Good size and strength. Brother Matt is a QB at Iowa. One of CMU's primary targets. Known suitors include CMU, U-M, MSU, Iowa, Penn St. and Purdue.
4) Rob White (6-4, 210, 4.85) of Grand Rapids South Christian - The top QB prospect coming out of Grand Rapids this season. Also a starter on the top-rated South Christian basketball team. A very intelligent QB with a strong throwing arm. Known suitors include Illinois, Michigan, Purdue and a host of MAC Schools.
5) Brendan Finnerty (6-1, 195, 4.4) of Brighton - A dual-threat QB with blazing spped, Finnerty passed for 1,105 yards and 11 TDs during his junior season. Also rushed for 920 yards and 12 TDs. Second team all-state selection last year. Brother Cullen is a QB at Toledo. Known suitors include MSU, Iowa, Stanford, Boston College and a host of MAC Schools.
6) Lee Waechter (6-4, 190, 4.9) of Kewaunee (Wisc.) - One of the top QB prospects in Wisconsin, he completed 159 0f 330 passes last season for 2,321 yards and 14 TDs. Good arm and makes smart decisions. Waechter is a fine MAC prospect.
7) Bo Johnson (6-5, 210, 4.9) of Wausau (Wisc.) East - Passes for 1,034 yards last season. Also rushed for 224 yards and scored four times. Johnson will be a four-year varsity starter. Attends the rival high school of CMU Punter Brian Brandt.
