Now choose carefully! :D
If they fire Owens, it'll take most likely 2 or more years to get back on track with a new system and a big loss in recruiting, also possible transfers.
Or, fire him and hire someone who will work with the defense, and can try to turn the team around like an Urban Meyer type. Either way, could be good - or bad. Your thoughts?

His recruiting is average at best in the first place.
Plus it seems that many of his top recruits never make it anyway for some unknown reason.
He had a long time to build a winning team.
We consider 6-5 a good year.
6-5 should be considered a down year, or ok year, not a good year.
We should average 7-8 wins every year with the occasional 9-2, 10-1 year.
We should be able to beat BGSU, Miami, Toledo, Marshall, and UCF sometimes. But we don't even come close. These other teams compete with, and occasionally beat the bigger programs. UA gets destroyed each time.
This defense has been terrible for years, and Owens hasn't figured a way to improve it.
I read someone say that Owens doesn't miss tackles, or fumble, or have stupid penalties. Right he doesn't, but he recruits, and coaches the players that do. Before coming to UA he was the tight end coach at OSU. Not even a coordinator. How did he ever become a D1 head coach?
We need a program builder. The type that will put UA on the map. That will help attendance, and recruiting. If you get good recruits, you normally have good teams. If you have good teams, you get good recruits.
We have to start over anyway. Why not with a new/better coach.
Just my opinion.
